Why we built it

Care at the bench should be matched by care in the records.

Guitar service is high-trust work. A player is leaving an instrument in someone else's care and asking for judgment, precision, and restraint.

Parker Precision Guitars built its service system to support that trust: record the starting point, define the scope, get approval, do the work, check the result, and preserve a useful record.

The system exists to support better service decisions, not to add busywork.

From intake to handoff

A controlled lifecycle for accepted work

Clear rules before work begins

Accepted work is documented, authorized, and handled through a controlled process.

Some internal acceptance and security controls are confidential, but the customer-facing principle is simple: accepted work is documented, authorized, and tied to a recorded scope.

Paid work begins only after recorded customer approval. Approval applies to the recorded instrument, scope, and amount. New billable work outside the approval pauses for another conversation. Estimates and work orders stay distinct. Instrument condition and findings are documented.

Governed, not just organized

Convenience never silently becomes authority.

The service system is shaped around clear authority. Important business decisions require owner approval, and customer approvals are limited to the recorded scope and amount.

Drafts, tests, and production changes are treated differently. Records are corrected or superseded rather than casually erased.

Automated tools can assist with the work, but they do not approve business decisions on their own.
